Cute Taper Fade Hairstyles

A taper fade is a type of hairstyle that is edgy but it is classy and professional. This hairstyle is very common and has been there since our fathers’ age. It features a long top, short back, and sides where the length should supposedly taper as it goes down the head.

However, the basic characteristic of a tapered hairstyle is a longer top and short sides and back; there are so many different variations of it. Different types of hair textures can be used to describe different tapers. The variation and the version of the fade can also make them different taper hairstyles. Here are some of the hairstyles to try.

1. Combed Back Taper Fade

This is a taper fade that has a longer top and shorter sides and back, just like any other tapered hairstyle. The difference comes in that the top has a longer length and is usually combed towards the back.

The top is cut with haircut number 3 or 4 to bring out a good contrast. This hairstyle can be worn for both casual and formal events.

2. Styled-Up DropFade

This style features a drop fade and is so unique because of the styling on the top. The unique thing about this style is that no matter the length of the hair at the top, the hair on the area near the ears are completely faded to a very short length.

3. Medium-Long Taper

The length of the hair in this style is almost the same, but a slight difference qualifies it to be a fade.

The sides and the back are slightly tapered to make the hairstyle have more volume. This hairstyle is perfect for people with elongated faces and oval faces.

4. Faux Hawk Tapered Fade

In this hairstyle idea, the extra length at the top is used to design a faux hawk to bring extra height to the front. The sides in this design feature a fade on their own to create a difference in length between the ears and the temple.

5. Long Tapered Quaff

This idea features a lot of hair length at the top, and it is styled upwardly and should feature a lot of volume.

The sides and the back have a longer length than in the usual taper fade, so the difference between the long top and the short sides is not too obvious.

6. Tapered Mini Quaff

This design is a mini version of the normal quaff. It features a gradual change on the taper on the sides and on the back, which helps the style look less messy.

7. Pseudo-Drop Fade

In this hairstyle, the hair at the top is usually left super long to help come up with the pseudo drop by pulling the hair to the back.

The pseudo drop gives an illusion of long hair at the top and the back because the on the top is brushed all the way to the back.

8. Pushed Back Taper

This design’s fade on the sides and back is not so obvious. This helps create more volume to the taper and is suitable for people who love keeping a lot of hair in their head and the same time, want to be stylish.

9. High Drop Fade With a Long Top

This is the perfect hairstyle for people with oily hair. The unique feature is that the hair at the top is long, but it features a defined line to establish the difference between the top, the sides, and the back.

10. Pushed-Up Bangs

You can have some fun experimenting with different hairstyles at the same time. In this idea, it is a combination of bangs and a taper.

The hairstyle requires maintenance to avoid losing its signature look. The back should have a higher length than a typical fade, while the sides should fade gradually.

11. Tapered Drop Fade With a Shaved Part

Adding a shaved part to any haircut helps set the taper fade apart. In this idea, the fade goes all the way down to the back while the sides are tapered from the ears to the top.
