The plan for Bitcoin adoption in the UK is forging ahead despite the current bear market. On the 21st and 22nd of October 2022, the UK will host the largest bitcoin conference to date, with experts, authors and content creators from all over the world.
The event is being held at the Assembly Rooms on Edinburgh’s George Street. It is being hosted by the , a new bitcoin company, in partnership with the bitcoin and cryptocurrency exchange OKX.
According to reports , the CEO of the Bitcoin Collective recently stated that the conference is solely related to bitcoin and it aims to inform and educate the collective. The focus is less about investing and the cryptocurrency and more about educating and informing the attendees about BTC.
What to Expect at the Bitcoin Collective Conference in Edinburgh
We have strong suspicions that the rise of automation in the cryptocurrency space is one of the talking points on the agenda. Especially considering the rapid growth of new trading tools entering the market and more and more new users latching on to them. Jeff Booth, author of The Price of Tomorrow, Greg Foss, Validus Power Corp strategist, Natalie Brunell, host of Coin Stories, and Samson Mow, CEO of Jan3 will be speaking at the event.

According to reports, Haider Rafique, the chief marketing officer at OKX, said that the conference is exactly what the BTC industry in the UK needs: the crypto community coming together to explain what we’re about and why you should care”.
Promoting Bitcoin Adoption in Scotland & Edinburgh
Walker makes it clear in the Bitcoin Collective podcast that the conference should help get more people in Scotland to adopt bitcoin, and that it aims to get as many different people on and off the stage as possible.
Locals call Scotland’s capital, “Auld Reekie,” and it is Scotland’s second-largest city. It has almost 500,000 people, which makes it a little smaller than Glasgow. But its history, architecture, and music more than make up for it.
Edinburgh has more historical and cultural events than Glasgow, like the world-famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Hogmanay, which is one of the biggest New Year’s parties in the world.
During 2021, there were some small signs that people in Edinburgh were starting to use Bitcoin. However, the conference hoped to make waves in terms of Bitcoin’s use across the country. Over the border in England, stories of grassroots adoption are spreading, while the British Crown Dependency of the Isle of Man is quickly becoming, what locals call a “Bitcoin Island.”
Allen Farrington, the author of Bitcoin is Venice, Danny Scott and Peter McCormack, the podcaster behind What Bitcoin Did, are all British Bitcoiners who have been confirmed as speakers so far. This is the first Bitcoin Collective conference, and the locations for the next few years haven’t been decided yet.
